As the project approached its conclusion in June 2026, last project outputs has become available, demonstrating how the Tethys team progressed toward achieving the main project objective, namely equipping national authorities, ICPDR and the organizations supporting them with operative, fit-forpurpose and harmonized procedures, workflows and tools as well as coordinated strategies and prioritization of actions to tackle effectively new challenges, pressures and targets regarding HS water pollution in the Danube River Basin (DRB), with special focus on aligning and bridging the gaps between EU and non-EU countries.

In addition, a report titled "National implications of recent revisions to EU water legislation and of external pressures on water resources for DRB countries" is available. The report presents analysis of responses provided by the Danube River Basin countries stakeholders to an in-depth assessment on the national implications of the changes in the existing water-related EU policies. In addition, stakeholders’ perception of the most pressing external challenges to water resources is also presented.
