Inspiring days for WE.Circular project in Maribor, Slovenia

The WE.Circular project partners gathered in Maribor, Slovenia, for two highly productive days marked by knowledge exchange, collaboration, and strategic development. The events included the final Transnational Learning Event and the Second Meeting of the Thematic Task Group, both hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Stajerska.

The Learning Event featured a presentation of inspiring good practices in supporting women entrepreneurs from Slovenia and Croatia, offering valuable insights and transferable approaches across the Danube region.

A special highlight of the event was the in-person presentation by Katrin Shugal from AuTerra Materials, one of the finalists in the WE.Circular Innovation Contest from Slovenia. AuTerra’s circular business model focuses on recovering secondary raw materials from waste and serves as a notable example of sustainable innovation.

Participants also had the opportunity to visit Kovačnik, a local initiative offering homemade products and green tourism services, located in the scenic mountains near Maribor. The visit showcased practical integration of circular principles and local entrepreneurship.

The second day of the event was dedicated to the development of the WE.Circular training programme. Project partners presented preliminary training materials and worked together to define how the programme can be enhanced to ensure it meets the real needs of women entrepreneurs and delivers high practical value.

These events mark a significant step forward in the implementation of the WE.Circular project, reinforcing the collaborative commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs in their transition to circular and digital economies across the Danube region.
