June 2026: A Month of Collaboration and Progress in the Danube Region
This June, the Interreg Danube Programme brought together stakeholders from across the region for a series of pivotal meetings. From strategic discussions to hands-on training, each gathering reinforced our shared commitment to strengthening transnational cooperation, safeguarding integrity, and shaping the future of the Danube Region.
Kicking Off the Month: National Contact Points and Monitoring Committee Meetings
2 June 2026, Budapest
The month began with a double header: the National Contact Points Meeting and the Monitoring Committee Meeting. These back-to-back sessions set the tone for a productive and forward-looking June.
National Contact Points Meeting
The NCP meeting focused on synergy building, capitalization at the national level, and the dissemination of project results. Participants engaged in practical discussions, exploring how to amplify the impact of the Programme’s work and ensure that communication activities resonate with target audiences. The review of the first semester’s communication efforts was not just about reporting, it was about understanding what truly makes a difference.
Monitoring Committee Meeting
The MC meeting dove into the implementation progress of the Programme, including updates on the Interreg Danube Region Programme and project changes. A highlight was the hands-on training session on the TA DMS module, equipping participants with the tools they need to navigate the Programme’s digital infrastructure. The meeting also included a close examination of MA/JS communication activities, ensuring alignment and effectiveness in how the Programme presents itself to the world.
Both meetings were driven by a shared goal: making the Danube Region Programme work better for the people and projects it serves.
Shaping the Future: First Task Force Meeting for the New Programming Period
3 June 2026, Budapest
The energy was palpable in Budapest as the first Task Force meeting dedicated to shaping the new programming period convened. Task Force members from across the Danube Region came together, united by a shared purpose: to build on past successes, push boundaries, and create a future that serves all Danubians.
From the outset, expectations were high and for good reason. The new programming period is the opportunity to continue deepening transnational collaboration, strengthen communities, and invest in what matters most to the people and places of the Danube Region. The discussions laid the groundwork for a more connected, resilient, and inclusive future.
Strengthening Integrity: Controllers Meeting and Antifraud Training
17 June 2026, Budapest
The month’s final major gathering was the Controllers Meeting, a dynamic session where collaboration and innovation took center stage. A standout moment was the Antifraud Training for Programme Bodies, a critical workshop for National Authorities and controllers. The training underscored the Programme’s commitment to safeguarding integrity and transparency as key pillars for building trust and accountability.
Participants also discussed the closure of the 1st call for proposals and explored simplified cost options for the 3rd call. The exchange of insights on risk-based methodologies further demonstrated the Programme’s dedication to smarter, more secure management.
Looking Ahead
The power of collaboration was evident in June 2026. From strategic planning to practical training, each meeting brought us closer to a more cohesive, transparent, and impactful Danube Region Programme. As we move forward, the insights and commitments from these gatherings will guide our efforts to serve the region and its people even better.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build a stronger, more connected Danube Region together!
