BrAIn Project Marks Major Milestone with Successful First Year Review and Transnational Training in Belgrade – 11-13 February 2025
In the period 11-13 February 2025, the BrAIn project marked a significant milestone with its First Year Review and Transnational Training on AI in Manufacturing, held in Belgrade, Serbia. The event, organized as part of the BrAIn - Interreg Danube Region Programme, brought together project partners, stakeholders, and experts in the fields of AI and manufacturing to reflect on the progress made so far and to collaborate on shaping the future of Industry 5.0.
The First Year Review session was a key event in this three-day journey, providing an opportunity to evaluate the accomplishments of the BrAIn project and set the stage for the upcoming year.
The review was kicked off with an overview of the project’s progress by the Project Leader Ms Renata Csabai, from Pannon Business Network, who highlighted the main milestones achieved. Presentations from project partners provided in-depth insights into specific activities, such as the Project Status Updates (PSO1, PSO2, and PSO3) and the financial and communication aspects of the project.
One of the highlights of the session was the presentation of the demo cases, which demonstrated the real-world applications of AI in manufacturing and showcased the project's potential for driving innovation in the sector. These demo cases sparked constructive discussions on future directions and opportunities for improvement, with valuable feedback provided by the Joint Secretariat.
The feedback gathered during the review will be instrumental in guiding the project partners as they move forward with their efforts to develop AI-driven solutions for manufacturing, focusing on sustainability, efficiency, and competitiveness within the Danube region.

In addition to the First Year Review, the BrAIn project partners participated in a series of productive discussions during the Project Meeting. The meeting focused on aligning the consortium’s vision for the project and ensuring that all partners are on the same page when it comes to next steps and responsibilities.
Key discussions included the progress and upcoming tasks for each project workstream (PSO1, PSO2, PSO3). Partners from different regions presented updates on their specific areas of responsibility, which covered essential aspects of AI applications and the development of relevant training materials. A particular highlight was the demonstration of the training materials that will be used in upcoming educational sessions designed to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector.

The event also marked the launch of the first Transnational Training on AI in Manufacturing, which focused on the transformative potential of Industry 5.0. The training covered a wide range of topics, including the Introduction to AI and Industry 5.0, the enabling technologies that are driving this transformation, and the role of robotics in revolutionizing the manufacturing sector.
Sessions also focused on the challenges and risks associated with implementing AI in manufacturing, ensuring that participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and obstacles in the field. This first training session served as a crucial step toward building the knowledge and skills necessary to fully integrate AI technologies into manufacturing operations, particularly in the context of Industry 5.0, which emphasizes human-centric, sustainable, and resilient industrial solutions.

As the BrAIn project continues its journey, the collaboration between partners, stakeholders, and experts from various sectors will ensure the continued development of AI solutions that support sustainable, efficient, and competitive manufacturing processes. The First Year Review and Transnational Training were a pivotal moment for the project, reinforcing the collective commitment to advancing the future of AI in Industry 5.0 across the Danube region.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to drive innovation, foster transnational collaboration, and shape the future of AI in manufacturing!
