Study Visit to South Moravian Region

From 2–4 February 2026, partners of the COMMHERITOUR met in the South Moravian Region, Czech Republic, for a study visit focused on cultural and creative industries, heritage crafts valorisation, and their role in regional development. The programme combined thematic discussions with practical site visits, allowing participants to explore how local and regional support structures, innovation hubs, educational institutions, and municipalities contribute to the preservation and modern development of traditional crafts.

During the visit, project partners explored Brno’s creative ecosystem through visits to inspiring cultural and innovation spaces such as KUMST, INDUSTRA, and Káznice. Participants also learned about the activities of Creative Brno and its strategic support for cultural and creative sectors. The second day focused on craftsmanship traditions and education, including a visit to the Masaryk Secondary School in Letovice and the Danzinger blueprint workshop in Olešnice, a family-run workshop preserving UNESCO-recognised intangible cultural heritage. The study visit provided valuable inspiration and practical examples of how cooperation between public institutions, creative hubs, schools, and local communities can strengthen heritage crafts and support sustainable regional development.
