4th Partners meeting & Transnational workshop | November 2025

On 4–5 November 2025, partners of the COMMHERITOUR project gathered in Kamnik, Slovenia, for the 4th partners’ meeting and transnational workshop. The event brought together project partners to review progress, exchange experiences, and align the final phase of implementation, with a strong focus on pilot results, strategic planning, and future sustainability.

The meeting opened at the House of Culture Kamnik with a management session led by the Lead Partner team, outlining administrative updates and next steps for the project’s thematic development. Communication activities were presented by RERA, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen visibility and outreach across the Danube Region.

A central part of the first day was dedicated to partner presentations of pilot projects. Structured discussions, facilitated by the Knowledge Providers, encouraged reflection on progress, challenges, and the practical applicability of developed solutions. These sessions demonstrated the diversity of approaches across regions while identifying common opportunities for further valorisation of heritage crafts.

After lunch, the programme included a study visit to the town of Škofja Loka, where participants explored local examples of craftsmanship in practice. Visits to the Arts & Craft Centre, textile studios, and traditional workshops provided valuable insights into how heritage skills can be preserved while adapting to contemporary markets and audiences.

The second day, hosted at the Mekinje Monastery, focused on strategic and forward-looking discussions. An action planning workshop guided partners through the preparation of Local Action Plans, the joint Strategy and Action Plan, and upcoming policy recommendations. Particular attention was given to defining clear steps towards project closure in mid-2026.

Further sessions addressed communication outputs and the development of the HeriCraftMarket platform, which will serve as a key tool for showcasing and promoting heritage crafts. Partners were also introduced to synergies with other initiatives, including the People-powered Tourism project, reinforcing cross-project learning and collaboration.

Practical demonstrations remained an important component of the meeting. Participants experienced the Kamnik pilot through a herbal workshop and site visit, followed by a guided city tour that highlighted the region’s cultural and tourism potential.

The meeting concluded with a clear set of next steps. Partners agreed on timelines for finalising pilot activities, submitting Local Action Plans, conducting peer reviews, and preparing the final conference and exhibition. These milestones will ensure a coordinated and impactful conclusion of the project.
