COMMHERITOUR kick-off meeting | March 2024

The COMMHERITOUR project was kicked-off in Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic on the 25th – 27th March 2024. The event was hosted by the Regional Development Agency of South Bohemia - RERA. During the meeting, project partners had a chance to meet in person for the first time, introduce their organizations, get oriented in project's specific objectives & activities, expected products / outputs as well as in the logical interconnectedness of all these. Partners also discussed the Danube Region Programme's rules and practice of project implementation.

As part of the kick-off meeting, project partners presented some masterpieces of their regional crafts heritage. The small exhibition of the handicraft products presented by the project partners also served the mutual understanding of the partners’ ambition in Commheritour.

On the 2nd day of the kick-off meeting, the project partners visited the town of Český Krumlov, a picturesque UNESCO heritage site in South Bohemia, Czech Republic. The partnership visited a former monastery that has been turned into a cultural centre with local crafts workshops and galleries. It was an exemplary good practice of how heritage crafts can be made part of the local tourism offer and how efficiently crafts heritage can be integrated in local image building, which is a major ambition of the Commheritour partnership in eight Danube Region locations.
