DANOVA NEXT Transnational Project Meeting held in Bratislava
On November 20, 2025, DANOVA NEXT project partners gathered in Bratislava, Slovakia, for another productive transnational meeting dedicated to reviewing ongoing progress and planning the final stage of the project. The meeting opened with greetings and registration, followed by introductory remarks and a detailed overview of coordination, monitoring, and financial reporting led by Dubrovnik Airport. This session provided partners with updated insights into evaluation processes and the financial status of the project, ensuring a clear understanding of obligations and expectations as the project moves forward.
Dubrovnik Airport continued with a presentation on the overall status of project implementation. The discussion focused on achieved activities, remaining deliverables, and the timeline for tasks still ahead. Partners reviewed implementation progress and aligned their efforts to ensure that all upcoming obligations are completed on schedule. This introductory session set a solid foundation for the technical and thematic discussions that followed.
Progress under WPT2: Creation of a Smart Transport Network for PRM digital accessibility data
A major part of the meeting was devoted to Work Package T2 (WPT2), which focuses on the development of the DANOVA NEXT digital tools supporting accessibility for persons with reduced mobility (PRM).
The morning continued with an in-depth session on Activity 2.3, where web developer Matei Oprea, on the behalf of the Dubrovnik Airport, presented the status of the design and technical implementation of the DANOVA NEXT application. Partners jointly discussed progress, remaining development steps, and solutions to current technical challenges.
ANSR and SOIH followed with the presentation concerning user feedback. This included collecting insights from both direct users and key stakeholders and experts, ensuring that the application meets real-world needs once deployed.
After a short coffee break, WU Wien presented the progress of the Evaluation Report. The session focused on how evaluation and clustering actions will enhance the effectiveness and scalability of the digital solutions being developed, setting the stage for further refinement of the application.
Progress under WPT3: Test of innovative services to increase the accessibility of transports in the Danube Region
Work Package T3 (WPT3) continued the meeting with a dynamic session dedicated to pilot activities across the Danube Region. Transport partners presented their Local Forums and pilot implementations, each highlighting tailored approaches to improving accessibility in their local contexts. These presentations offered valuable insights into the diverse challenges and innovative solutions emerging across partner territories.
Afterwards, DPB introduced the template for the Appraisal Report on Testing, providing guidance for partners to document and evaluate their pilot activities in a harmonised and comparable way.
The University of Maribor then presented Activity 3.3, focusing on impact evaluation and transferability actions. Partners discussed the draft evaluation guide and the methodological approach to assessing both the effectiveness of pilot actions and their potential scalability across the region.
Coordination, communication and next steps
SOIH provided an update on the monitoring of communication activities, including an overview of the upcoming video pills, designed to promote project achievements and raise awareness about accessibility in transport.
The meeting concluded with an open Q&A session, where partners reviewed next steps, upcoming deadlines, and preparations for the next transnational meeting in Prague. The Steering Committee then formally approved the decisions and conclusions from the day.
Following the official programme, partners enjoyed a social activity and a dinner generously hosted by DPB, offering an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation and team spirit.
