SOIH showcases DANOVA NEXT to a wider audience through key national events
Croatian Union of Associations of Persons with Disabilities (SOIH) continues to play a big role in promoting accessibility and raising awareness of the DANOVA NEXT project through high-impact national events. As an active project partner, SOIH systematically integrates the project’s goals, results, and tools into major public discussions on digital and transport accessibility in Croatia.
Round Table “Digital Accessibility: From Law to Practice”
One of the most significant platforms for presenting the project was the national Round Table “Digital Accessibility: From Law to Practice”, organised by the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation, the Information Commissioner’s Office, the National School for Public Administration, SOIH, and the Croatian Association of the Blind. The event gathers public authorities, experts, and representatives of organisations of persons with disabilities to jointly evaluate the implementation of national accessibility legislation, highlight examples of good practice in digital accessibility and promote the principle “Nothing about us without us”.
SOIH’s senior expert associate, Magdalena Guzalić, presented the DANOVA NEXT project as a best-practice example. Her contribution demonstrated how the project advances digital accessibility in transport, offering practical solutions that can inspire improvements across other sectors. The event was held in a hybrid format and attracted more than 200 participants.
30th Croatian Symposium of Persons with Disabilities with International Participation
DANOVA NEXT was also prominently featured at the 30th Croatian Symposium of Persons with Disabilities with International Participation, a flagship annual event organised by SOIH in partnership with national institutions and with high-level institutional support. The symposium brings together national institutions, civil society, experts, and international stakeholders to discuss the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in practice.
During the programme, Magdalena Guzalić delivered a presentation titled “Overview of the results achieved so far in the DANOVA NEXT project", informing participants about key project achievements. She also encouraged participation in online testing of the DANOVA NEXT web app, as an essential step toward ensuring accessibility and usability of the future application.
Through these engagements, SOIH successfully strengthened public awareness of the DANOVA NEXT project and ensured meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in its development. By integrating DANOVA NEXT into major national events, SOIH continues to support the project’s mission of improving the accessibility of transport services across the Danube Region and promoting inclusive digital transformation.
