Danube Water Balance Project – Tisza Basin Stakeholder Workshop in Szolnok 17th June 2026
We are pleased to invite stakeholders and water management professionals to the Danube Water Balance Project – Tisza Basin Stakeholder Workshop, which will take place on 17 June 2026 in Szolnok, Hungary.
The event will focus on the Tisza pilot basin activities of the Interreg Danube Water Balance project, aiming to improve transboundary and cross-sectoral water management in the Danube River Basin through the development of a basin-wide surface and groundwater water balance model.
During the workshop, participants will gain insight into the latest developments of the project, including:
the application of the CWatM Danube River Basin Water Balance Model in the Tisza Basin,
the project’s Central Data Storage platform and data management framework,
the Web-GIS platform developed for visualisation and interpretation of modelling results,
and climate change related water balance assessments and future management challenges.
The programme will also provide an opportunity to exchange experiences with related initiatives, including the LAREDAR project, and to discuss key regional water management issues affecting the Tisza River Basin.
The workshop aims to support dialogue between water authorities, researchers, environmental experts, sectoral stakeholders, and international organisations involved in water management and climate adaptation in the region.
We look forward to welcoming you in Szolnok for a day of presentations, discussion, and networking.
