๐Ÿš€ 1st Newsletter DanubeCrafts Project

Welcome to the first DanubeCrafts Newsletter!

The DanubeCrafts project brings traditional crafts back to life by connecting artisans, communities, and tourism actors through the Traditional Crafts Route across the Danube Region. By combining heritage, innovation, and sustainable tourism, the initiative creates new opportunities for local economies while offering visitors authentic cultural experiences.

Traditional crafts are actively promoted through regional events such as the Craft Village program during the โ€œBeer Days” festival in Zrenjanin, the โ€œPekijada – Scent of Tradition and Sound of Steel” event in Očevija (Bosnia and Herzegovina) (https://sarajevotimes.com/the-pekijada-scent-of-tradition-and-sound-of-steel/), and cultural festivals like Mutat la Țară Fest in Romania and the Haferland Week Festival in Transylvania.

Upcoming initiatives will continue to strengthen the visibility of crafts and cultural tourism, including the Balkanik Festival in Bucharest, the CRAFTTOUR General Conference in Brussels (https://craftour.eu), the International Fair of Traditional Crafts at the Etar Museum in Bulgaria (https://etar.org), and the Autumn Crafts Fair in Plovdiv (https://visitplovdiv.com). Together, these events support cooperation between artisans, institutions, and tourism stakeholders while bringing traditional craftsmanship closer to European audiences.
