🏺 Keeping the tradition alive: A unique pottery experience within DanubeCrafts
✨ As part of the implementation of the RAP - LP within the Danube Crafts project, participants and stakeholders had the privilege of taking part in an authentic pottery workshop led by master potter Mihai Trușcă, one of Romania's most respected guardians of this traditional craft.
Mihai Trușcă's passion for pottery began in childhood, when he helped his parents at the potter's wheel. Over the decades, he has inspired and trained hundreds of children, passing on his love for clay and traditional craftsmanship. During the Danube Crafts workshop, he offered participants a truly unique pottery experience, accompanied by two of his young apprentices, who beautifully demonstrated that this valuable tradition continues to be passed on to the next generation.
👐 Participants discovered the beauty of shaping clay, learned traditional pottery techniques, and experienced first-hand the creative process behind handmade ceramic pieces. The authentic atmosphere, the master's guidance, and the enthusiasm of his apprentices transformed the workshop into a genuine lesson in patience, creativity, and respect for cultural heritage.
🌍 Through activities such as this, the Danube Crafts project contributes to safeguarding intangible cultural heritage, encourages the transfer of traditional knowledge between generations, and demonstrates that traditional crafts remain a valuable resource for community development and the promotion of sustainable cultural tourism across the Danube Region.
