Innovative Ideas of Students from the Prijedor Electrical Engineering School for a Sustainable Future

At the invitation of the Prijedor Electrical Engineering School, the Prijedor City Development Agency – PREDA participated as a member of the evaluation committee for business ideas presented by fourth-year students. The activity was implemented within the “Advertising” curriculum unit, where students, under the mentorship of English language teacher Mija Končar, presented their own products and business concepts in English.

Focus on Sustainability and Digital Solutions

During the presentations, students demonstrated a high level of creativity and understanding of contemporary challenges. A significant number of ideas were directly related to the themes developed by PREDA through the DRWO 4.0 and NBS4RESILIENCE projects, particularly in the areas of sustainable resource management, digital transformation, and the application of innovative technologies in production.

The proposed solutions emphasized the use of recycled materials, the development of environmentally friendly products, and the application of modern tools that contribute to sustainable development and nature conservation.

Youth as Drivers of Change

It is especially encouraging that the students showed awareness of climate change challenges and the ability to propose concrete, sustainable, and nature-based solutions. In doing so, they also demonstrated a high level of business maturity, in line with the objectives of the Get Employed project, which focuses on improving youth employability.

Participation in this event once again confirmed the importance of connecting the education system with development institutions, as well as the potential of younger generations to contribute to sustainable economic development and future employment opportunities through knowledge and innovation.
