A meeting with stakeholders was held as part of the ELEVATE project

A meeting with stakeholders was held today in Cazin within the EU project ELEVATE. The meeting was jointly organized and held by the project partners, Canton Chamber of Commerce of the Una-Sana and the City of Cazin. ELEVATE focuses on improving intersectoral cooperation and building an inclusive governance model, which strengthens local resilience and fosters social inclusion, especially for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and people with disabilities.

The goal of the meeting was to involve stakeholders and raise awareness of the social inclusion of the elderly and people with disabilities. The organizers presented the project, expected results and activities, including a pilot project that will be focused on the social inclusion of older people in the rural areas of the City of Cazin. The participants actively joined the discussion and gave their comments and suggestions, but also supported the project itself and the planned activities.

As a second part of the meeting a workshop was held on the same topic, which was held by Šejla Bjepoljak, PhD. The meeting showed that a change in perspective opens up space for inclusive practices and strengthening social cohesion. Older people are seen as active members of society, and inclusion as an investment in the common future.
