ELEVATE project mainstreaming event held with EKOBIS 2026 Fair

Partners, Chamber of Commerce of the Una-Sana Canton and City of Cazin, promoted the EU project ELEVATE at the 22nd International Ecology Fair (EKOBIS 2026), held in Bihać from September 10 to 13, 2026. The project aims to strengthen cooperation among the public, private, and civil sectors in order to create more inclusive communities and actively involve elderly and persons with disabilities in community life.

"In addition to promotion at the project stand, the partners held a mainstreaming event as part of the Fair's program to introduce target groups and the general public to activities completed so far and those currently implemented, as well as the pilot project being implemented in the City of Cazin and the project's expected results," noted Lorena Felić from the Chamber of Commerce of the Una-Sana Canton.

Special emphasis was paid to the ELEVATE model for inclusive territorial development, which was developed through a bottom-up multi-stakeholder co-design process, following the principles of universal design to ensure that no one is left behind. Elderly and persons with disabilities will be in the center of process, shaping solutions under the moto “nothing about us without us”, with local businesses co-shaping new social inclusion programmes, promoting socially responsible private investment.

Concluding the presentation, Suad Rošić from the City of Cazin stated: "The project partners are using this opportunity to encourage the involvement of the public, private, and civil sectors in creating solutions that address the community's actual needs.
