ILEU e.V at the Danube Participation Day
As an official side event of the 14th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region in Sarajevo (5th and 6th of November), this year’s Danube Participation Day took place in Sarajevo the 4th of November. The Danube Participation Day brought together local authorities, civil society organizations and regional stakeholders across the Danube region to focus on the theme Local Voices, European Future – The Crucial Role of Communities in Shaping EU Policy and Driving Enlargement. The event aimed to showcase how municipal and community actors can influence democratic development and the EU accession process through panels, interactive sessions and an AGORA marketplace for sharing practices and building partnerships.
Carmen Stadelhofer, president of ILEU e.V and „Danube-Networkers for Europe“, Ulm, Germany, presented in this AGORA the goals and ongoing work in the Interreg project ELEVATE which aimes to foster collaboration between public, civil and private sectors to develop an inclusive governance model in the Danube Region. Communities should be made more age-friendly for older people in their diversity and individuals with disabilities. ILEU is one of the 17 partners of 13 countries which take actively part in this project. In the Agora time but also beyond good conversations and exchange of good practices and new approaches to this theme had been made.
