Webinar: Climate Change Adaptation Measures for Large Carnivores in European Mountain Regions

FORESTCONNECT WEBINAR

Climate Change Adaptation Measures for Large Carnivores in European Mountain Regions

Date: 06.03.2026, 10:00-11:30 CET, online

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the international webinar “Climate change adaptation measures for large carnivores in European mountain regions organised by WWF Bulgaria, on behalf of the ForestConnect consortium, in cooperation with the Carpathian Convention Secretariat. The webinar will take place on 6 March 2026 from 10:00 to 11:30 CET.

The ForestConnect project supports climate‑smart forest connectivity for large carnivores across the Balkan–Carpathian–Dinaric region. Fragmentation and climate change threaten the ability of large carnivores to move between key habitats. ForestConnect partners develop and implement a combination of digital tools and on‑the‑ground adaptation and restoration measures aimed at improving landscape permeability and mitigating human-wildlife conflict.

As part of our capacity building activities, the webinar will provide a platform to share emerging results and challenges related to climate change adaptation measures for large carnivores from European mountain regions.

The event brings together researchers, practitioners, NGO representatives, protected area managers, and authorities from European mountain regions to exchange knowledge and practical experience on strengthening forest connectivity under changing climate conditions.

Please feel free to share this invitation with colleagues or project partners who may be interested.

A link to participate in our webinar will be provided to you upon registration on the webinar webpage. Thank you!

Looking forward to meeting you at the webinar,

Tanya Georgieva-Schnell, WWF Bulgaria on behalf of the ForestConnect project, , email: tschnell@wwf.bg

Liudmila Sirychenko, Secretariat of Carpathian Convention, email: liudmyla.sirychenko@un.org
