Stakeholder meeting in the BOKU River Lab

Without proper stakeholder involvement, modern water management projects are doomed from the start.

To avoid it, BOKU invited the stakeholders of the Austrian InnoWATCCH project site to the River Lab in September 2026. They shared updates on the project, the work completed so far, and the steps ahead. Afterwards, they opened the floor for stakeholders to share their views on the overall project and the Austrian site specifically.

The participants contributed valuable insights and shared their expert knowledge on local ecology, the groundwater situation, sedimentation issues, and similar projects in the area.

The feedback they received has already been incorporated into their site selection process, and the information shared will continue to inform the planning and modelling stages ahead.
