Synergy Meeting of Project Partners from the Republic of Croatia within the Interreg Danube Region Programme 2021–2027

As part of the Interreg Danube Region Programme 2021–2027, a synergy meeting of project partners from the Republic of Croatia was held on Monday, March 31st, 2025. The meeting aimed to facilitate the exchange of experiences, present project activities within Croatia, and strengthen cooperation among project partners. Special emphasis was placed on developing a strategic approach to enhancing the impact of project results at both regional and transnational levels, as well as aligning efforts with the overarching programme’s objectives.

The event brought together approximately 30 experts, including representatives from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition (Department for Institutional Structure of Public Water Supply and Sewerage Services, Department for Water Protection and Use, and the Division for Water Protection), the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service, Zadar County, and the Institute of Public Health Zadar.

Project partners presented four projects approved under Specific Objective 2.3 "Sustainable, integrated, transnational water and sediment management in the Danube River Basin":

·         DanubeSediment_Q2 (Croatian Waters, Damir Tomas, Phd)

·         MicroDrink (Croatian Geological Survey, Ana Selak, Phd)

·         Danube Water Balance (Croatian Waters, Daria Čupić, Phd)

·         Tethys (Croatian Waters, Jasmina Antolić, MSc in Food Technology)

 Additionally, Laszlo Podolszki, Phd, from the Croatian Geological Survey presented the GeoNetSee project, approved under Specific Objective 1.1 "Enhancing innovation and technology transfer".

Following the presentations, an interactive discussion was held on strategies to increase the visibility of project results, ensure their practical application, and strengthen alignment with water resource management policies and strategies.

 

This event represents a significant step toward enhancing cooperation among Croatian project partners, contributing to the advancement of sustainable water and sediment management in the Danube River Basin and fostering exchange of expert knowledge on unstable terrains.
