TransAC
Project Relevance
Many rural and crisis-affected regions in the Danube area are facing structural challenges such as brain drain, demographic ageing and the decline of manufacturing industries. At the same time, new technologies such as additive manufacturing offer significant opportunities for innovation, regional development and modern industrial production. TransAC addresses this challenge by strengthening skills development and cooperation between education, industry and policy stakeholders in the Danube region. The project contributes to building future-oriented skills ecosystems and supports regions in adapting to technological transformation.
Relevance - Key Aspects
- Tackling brain drain and skills shortages in rural and crisis regions
- Supporting innovation through additive manufacturing technologies
- Strengthening cooperation between education, industry and policy
Overall Objective
The main objective of TransAC is to establish a transnational Danube Training Academy for Additive Manufacturing, consisting of Training Centres in each participating region. The academy will connect vocational education, higher education institutions and industry partners to develop innovative training opportunities for modern manufacturing technologies. Special attention is given to young people and vulnerable groups, creating new pathways for education, employment and regional development. Through cross-border cooperation, the project strengthens the skills base needed for the future of manufacturing in the Danube region.
Objective - Key Aspects
- Establishing a Danube Training Academy for Additive Manufacturing
- Creating new learning opportunities for young people and vulnerable groups
- Building a transnational skills ecosystem for additive manufacturing
Project Activities
TransAC partners from seven countries collaborate to develop innovative training concepts and learning environments in additive manufacturing. The project includes the design of training modules, pilot learning activities and transnational knowledge exchange among education providers, SMEs and policy stakeholders. Workshops, pilot trainings and stakeholder cooperation ensure that the developed training approaches respond to real industry needs. Through this collaborative process, TransAC builds training centres in each region, thereby creating a sustainable network for advanced manufacturing education in the Danube region.
Key Project Activities
- Development of training centres and training modules and learning environments
- Pilot trainings and testing in partner regions
- Stakeholder cooperation with SMEs, education providers and policy makers
Expected Results
The project will establish a transnational training network that strengthens skills development and innovation in additive manufacturing across the Danube region. Participating organisations will increase their institutional capacity through cooperation, knowledge exchange and joint development of training approaches. The developed strategies, training models and cooperation structures will support long-term regional development and contribute to reducing brain drain in the participating regions.
Key Results
- Creation of a transnational training network
- Strengthened institutional capacity of partner organisations
- New training models and strategies for regional skills development
