Building Opportunities Through Education: University of Bayreuth Advances TransAC’s Mission
The University of Bayreuth in Germany plays a key role in advancing the TransAC project's vision of making additive manufacturing education more accessible, particularly in rural and crisis-affected regions. With a total project budget of €2,018,500, including €1,614,800 in Interreg funding, the initiative aims to create lasting opportunities for skills development, innovation, and regional growth.
At the heart of the project is the establishment of a training academy designed to provide practical education in additive manufacturing and emerging technologies. By improving access to specialized training, TransAC seeks to address the challenges of brain drain and limited educational opportunities, helping people develop valuable skills without having to leave their home regions.
A particular focus is placed on supporting vulnerable learners and communities facing social and economic challenges. Through inclusive training opportunities and international cooperation, the project aims to strengthen individual career prospects, encourage knowledge exchange, and contribute to more resilient regional economies. These efforts reflect TransAC's broader commitment to connecting education, technology, and social inclusion to create sustainable opportunities across the Danube Region.
