Advancing Remote 3D Printing: First Prototype Successfully Tested at CUAS

Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) in Austria has successfully developed and tested the first prototype of a remote 3D printing system as part of the TransAC project. Based on a Bambu Lab A1 Mini with an automatic build plate changing system, the prototype enables largely autonomous printing and has already demonstrated promising results in initial tests.

Further development focuses on enabling printer control through a local network (LAN), reducing dependence on cloud-based services. Initial tests have been successful, establishing a foundation for further improvements.

The university plans to develop a total of four remote 3D printing systems, each focusing on a different aspect of additive manufacturing education. These systems aim to provide students with flexible access to modern manufacturing technologies and support innovative, hands-on learning opportunities within the TransAC project.
