Launching CAD and Additive Manufacturing Classes in Bayreuth, Germany

In October 2025, the University of Bayreuth in Bayreuth, Germany, together with Stiftland Gymnasium Tirschenreuth, launched their first classes in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Additive Manufacturing.

The initiative represents an important step toward integrating practical 3D printing education into secondary school curricula, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with modern digital design and manufacturing technologies.

In addition, the project team participated in Bayern Innovativ’s “TRANSFERleben” Roadshow in Bayreuth, where they presented the TransAC project and highlighted its role in promoting creativity, innovation, and digital learning in engineering education.

By supporting educational initiatives like these, the TransAC project continues to strengthen collaboration between schools, universities, and industry while advancing skills development in additive manufacturing.
