FOURTH WIN NEWSLETTER

StoryMap, Flagship recognition and inspiring women’s voices

We are pleased to share that the fourth edition of the WIN newsletter has been published, bringing a winter update filled with important milestones, inspiring stories, and meaningful dialogue from across the Danube Region.

This edition reflects the growing impact of the WIN project as we continue working to strengthen women’s position in labour markets, particularly in peripheral industrial regions shaped by economic transition.

One of the highlights of this newsletter is the launch of the WIN StoryMap of good practices, showcasing inspiring and transferable initiatives from all 14 Danube Region countries. The StoryMap provides concrete examples of employment measures, training schemes, community-led initiatives, and innovative policy approaches that can support women’s inclusion and serve as inspiration for stakeholders across the region.

We also introduce the new WIN project video, “Women’s work, made visible”, which sheds light on the realities women face in traditionally male-dominated sectors while highlighting the social innovations, pilot actions, and networks developed within the project.

Another major milestone is the official recognition of WIN as a Danube Strategy Flagship under Priority Area 9: People & Skills of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR). This acknowledgement underlines the project’s relevance as a model of cross-border cooperation contributing to more inclusive and resilient regions.

The newsletter further captures key events from recent months, including the Geographical Talk on gender inequalities in industrial environments in Ljubljana, the “Šiht happens” career fair in Zasavje supporting young people’s career exploration, the Job Fair in Livno, and the 4th WIN Partner Meeting in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It also highlights inspiring women’s stories shared through new WIN podcasts, featuring leaders who are reshaping traditionally male-dominated sectors.
