WIN Policy Recommendations

The WIN Policy Recommendations publication presents key findings and strategic recommendations developed through the WIN project to improve the position of women in the labour markets of peripheral industrial regions across the Danube Region.

Building on research, pilot actions, and stakeholder engagement in seven pilot regions, the document highlights the structural barriers women continue to face, including traditional gender roles, limited childcare provision, rigid workplace cultures, and restricted employment opportunities. It also outlines practical pathways towards more inclusive labour markets through social innovation, skills development, stronger support networks, and coordinated policy action.

The recommendations are addressed to policymakers, employers, employment services, regional development organisations, and stakeholders across the Danube Region, with the aim of supporting long-term, place-based and gender-sensitive approaches to regional development and labour market inclusion.
