Active2Public Transport to the People! Info desk on sustainable mobility in Ulm
On 5th July, the Danube Office Ulm/Neu-Ulm invited citizens to learn about the Active2Public Transport (A2PT)project in an accessible way and encouraged them to reflect on their mobility behaviour at an information desk in the city centre of Ulm. The info desk was part of Environment Week, held every two years and dedicated to climate protection and sustainability.
In addition to learning about the Active2Public Transport project, visitors could vote in an interactive survey about what would most encourage them to use their bike, bus or train more often. The most common answer was ‘safe and well-developed routes’, followed by ‘better public transport connections’ and ‘affordable public transport tickets and sharing options’ . The activity attracted considerable interest and led to numerous conversations.
Moreover, alternative mobility solutions were presented. Visitors had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with folding bikes as a practical solution for combining cycling and public transport. In a fun and interactive ‘speed challenge’, they were invited to fold and unfold the bike as quickly as possible. In addition, an e-cargo bike was available to try out.
The info desk made the project visible in public spaces and provided momentum for sustainable mobility in the region.
