Bratislava Celebrates A2PT Action Day

On September 19, 2025, as part of European Mobility Week, the Ministry of Transport of Slovakia organized an event called “Ministerstvo dopravy SR deťom” (Ministry of Transport SR for Children), which was also joined by Bratislavská integrovaná doprava, a.s. (BID) presenting activities within the Active2Public Transport (A2PT) project. The day was organized as a project A2PT Action Day, where pilot actions of the project in Slovakia were also presented.

Visitors, especially children, had the opportunity to try out a folding bike, which is part of the pilot action “Give Your Car a Break!”. Those who were able to unfold and refold the bike without any problems were rewarded in a competition. In some cases, a tiebreaker question about transportation had to be asked, which was not a big problem for the children, as many of them regularly walk or take public transportation to school.

Visitors were also informed about the possibility of free bicycle transport on the cross-border bus line 901 from Bratislava to Hainburg, which is also part of the A2PT pilot actions.

As part of European Mobility Week, participants could also take part in the competition for a free annual travel card.

Other transport operators also presented themselves at the event, including Dopravný podnik Bratislava with its hydrogen bus. This kind of support from transport operators contributes significantly to raising awareness and motivating people to travel without cars, which has a positive impact on environmental quality.
