Slovenia Advances Plans for Multimodal Transport Hubs

The first official meeting of the Slovenian national Active2Public Transport working group took place in Ljubljana. The meeting, led by the Slovenian Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy, focused on the challenges of planning multimodal hubs in Slovenia.

The need to coordinate various stakeholders from the early stages of projects was stressed. Representatives highlighted the need to categorise stations, coordinate timetables and ensure safe and accessible routes to stops. The importance of involving local communities was also discussed. The group discussed the preparation of guidelines with a key focus on standardisation, accessibility and connectivity.

The Slovenian Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy is a project partner of Active2PublicTransport, a project of the Danube Region Interreg Programme involving 11 partners from 9 countries.
