From training to the real workplace: how can jobseekers apply for work with greater confidence, and what does the workplace actually look like from the inside?

On 11 September in Varna, participants from vulnerable groups had the opportunity not only to learn how to present themselves successfully to an employer, but also to meet businesses directly and experience a real workplace.

The event was jointly organised by BATTI Association, the Directorate “Labour Office” – Varna, and the employer “Marchela”, with 12 participants from the project’s target groups.

The first part focused on practical preparation for the labour market, including motivation and confidence when applying for a job, job interview preparation, employment relations and financial literacy. Representatives of Marchela then presented specific employment opportunities, applicant requirements and the skills they look for.

Then it was time to move from training to the real workplace!

During an Open Workplace Day at a Marchela supermarket, participants experienced the actual working environment, learned about daily processes and working conditions, and discussed vacancies and employment opportunities directly with employer representatives.

By combining practical preparation, direct interaction with employers and real workplace experience, ANCHOR is building a bridge between people facing greater difficulties in accessing the labour market, the institutions supporting them and employers offering genuine employment opportunities.

And the activities continue: on 24 September, another practical training and workplace visit was organised in Varna, this time including EUROTEX.
