Connecting with Young NEETs on Instagram

The Back on Track project expands outreach with national Instagram accounts for young people, not in education, employment or training

The Back on Track project has launched national Instagram accounts to better connect with young people not in education, employment, or training (NEETs), offering them practical guidance and motivation to support their transition into education, training, or the workforce.

While the Back on Track partnership works at a strategic level to improve support systems for NEETs by developing interventions and influencing policies, the project also engages young people directly. These new social media channels will provide accessible, relevant, and engaging content, ensuring that young people, particularly those in rural areas, receive the information and encouragement they need.

The Instagram accounts will share career advice, training opportunities, success stories, and updates on project activities, creating a digital space where NEETs can find inspiration and practical support.

Besides being a useful and safe space for young people, these accounts aim to become a valuable resource for youth workers, educators, employment services and organisations supporting them.

By making these tools more widely available, Back on Track aims to empower NEETs across Europe and help them take the next step towards education and employment. In a later stage, the project will also launch its profiles on TikTok, widening its outreach and thus reaching out to more young people.
