Atrium at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade

featured at the 48th Salon of Architecture

The revitalization project of the Atrium at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade, has been selected for exhibition at the 48th Salon of Architecture, held at the Museum of Applied Art, where it will be on display until May 5.

The Salon of Architecture is a traditional annual event organized by the Museum of Applied Art, established in 1974. It is carried out in collaboration with relevant and renowned associations, organizations, institutions, and individuals in the field of architecture. As a significant platform within both the Museum and the architectural community in Serbia, the Salon aims to promote outstanding achievements in architecture and to affirm the role and importance of architecture in society.

Out of 275 submitted entries, an expert jury selected 114 projects, while only 27 realized projects were chosen for the central exhibition titled “Moving Space” — including the Atrium of the Faculty of Forestry.

The architectural concept was developed within the international project DECORATOR (Interreg Danube Region Programme). The realization was supported by the Faculty of Forestry, its Teaching Bases and Arboretum, as well as numerous partners. The project was designed by students Lara Đolović, Anja Đorđević, and Dušan Jevtić, under the mentorship of Prof. Jelena Matić.

By transforming a neglected university space into a socially responsible, multifunctional, and educational environment, the Atrium project promotes principles of sustainability, resource reuse, and heritage preservation — key themes of this year’s Salon.
