Pilot Action kick-off event on 3rd April 2025 in Slovenia
Slovenia Launches the DECORATOR Pilot Actions
Exploring the Circular Future of the Built Environment
Date and Time: April 3, 2025, 13:00–15:00
Location: XCenter, Delpinova ulica 20, Nova Gorica.
Linked to the New European Bauhaus initiative, DECORATOR sees circularity not just as a technical fix, but as an opportunity to reimagine places as meaningful, sustainable and beautiful.
The collaborative work has resulted in the DECORATOR Business Model, which by the end of 2024 will provide a structured approach to transform how we design, build, reuse and imagine the future of our cities and landscapes.
In 2025, the project moves into practice. Five thematic pilot modules will be implemented across participating countries, each testing different segments of the construction value chain. In Slovenia, the focus will be on activating conceptual and test spaces that blend service design and art-based methods to unlock new interpretations of space and material use.

The kick-off event of the DECORATOR project took place at XCenter in Nova Gorica, serving as a vibrant meeting point for ideas, collaboration, and visions for a circular future. The event was co-organized by the Cultural Heritage Studies of the University of Nova Gorica and the Technology Park Ljubljana.
DECORATOR is more than a project—it is a vision that reimagines the future of construction through principles of circularity, sustainability, and aesthetics. In a time of escalating climate challenges, the project aims to demonstrate that it is possible to build differently, with deep respect for materials, local knowledge, and cultural heritage. This is not just a technical transformation—it is an artistic and collaborative journey.
An integral part of the event was the accompanying exhibition, Strong Women in Culture, which featured the work of Apol Temesi. Her acoustic panels, SoundWool, made from regional wool waste, resonated with both functionality and deep symbolic meaning. Each fiber in her work reflects stories of place, tradition, and sustainability. Her approach reminds us that the resources around us are often sufficient—we only need to shift our perspective.
This event marked only the beginning. Through the DECORATOR project, we look forward to exploring how we can collectively reshape the environments we inhabit.
