Iskriva joins the advisory board for the New European Bauhaus Funding Hub
We are delighted to share that Zavod Iskriva has been selected as one of the expert organisations invited to contribute to the Advisory Board for the establishment of the NEB Funding Hub, a significant new European Commission initiative designed to strengthen financing mechanisms for projects aligned with the values of the New European Bauhaus (NEB). Iskriva's invitation reflects the work developed through the NONA project, which has built a concrete body of knowledge on green investment models, urban regeneration, and place-based development across the Danube region.
On Tuesday, 9 June 2026, Iskriva Institute for Development of Local Potentials participated in a workshop in Brussels, convened as part of the advisory process for setting up this hub.
Bringing together expertise in investment and development
The workshop brought together representatives of selected projects and initiatives working on the financing of development projects in line with NEB principles, alongside a range of investors. The aim of the gathering was to identify needs, challenges, and concrete proposals for establishing an effective mechanism to better connect projects with funding sources and to accelerate the implementation of high-quality development initiatives across Europe.
Building on NONA: Iskriva's approach to the New European Bauhaus
During the workshop, Iskriva presented their approach to the New European Bauhaus, understood as a process of creating new value, identifying development opportunities, and advancing a contemporary model of leadership for delivering projects grounded in the principles of sustainability, inclusion, and aesthetic quality. This approach has been also developed and refined through the NONA project, a transnational collaboration exploring green investment frameworks and place-based governance models across ten pilot cities in the Danube region.
Iskriva also highlighted the importance of regional development and the need for financial mechanisms capable of unlocking the development potential of local communities, a challenge that the NONA partnership has encountered, and worked to address, throughout the project.
Iskriva's perspective was well received both by European Commission representatives and by fellow participants, confirming that the approaches developed through NONA are relevant well beyond the project itself and have a role to play in shaping the future architecture of NEB financing at the European level.
New partnerships, lasting impact
The Iskriva team also forged new connections with investors who share an understanding of the value of investing in regional development. These partnerships are expected to make a meaningful contribution to the further development of projects that embody the values of the New European Bauhaus and generate long-term positive outcomes for communities and their environments carrying forward the legacy of the NONA project into the initiatives that follow.
