Preparatory meeting held in Cazin for upcoming October NONA Summer school

In preparation for the upcoming NONA Summer school, taking place in Cazin this October as part of the NONA Travelling academy, several project partners gathered on 24th June for a coordination meeting, including Ute Meyer University of Applied Sciences in Biberach - urbanes.land, Zdravko Kozinc ISKRIVA, and Martin Yankov The Collective Foundation, alongside representatives of the City of Cazin Selma and Suad Rošić, and the Public Institution Centre for Culture and Tourism Cazin.

The meeting focused on outlining the preliminary activities and agreeing on the core elements of the academy programme. Further planning and coordination will continue through the upcoming online meetings. Meanwhile, the NONA Summer Camp 2025 is currently taking place in Ravne na Koroškem, Slovenia, one of the pilot project partners in the NONA project. This small, post-industrial town in the north of the country is undergoing a major transformation, facing challenges related to job loss, sustainable tourism, and the aftermath of the catastrophic 2023 floods. Within this context, students have gathered for an intensive summer workshop, living and working on site to explore, map, and design small-scale interventions that envision new possibilities for urban and landscape development.

Follow up for the Ravne na Koroškem Summer school update in more detail soon.

Stay tuned for more updates from the field!
