The NONA project showcased at Urban Meetings in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria

On November 2, the NONA project took centre stage at the Urban Meetings in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. The event, hosted by the Art Collective on the Street at MMC Stara Zagora, featured a workshop titled "Green Urban Spaces as Opportunities for Education and Tourism & Future of Aerospace Sites in the Urban Environment."

NONA project partner The Collective Foundation, Mircho Hristov alongside external expert arch. Maria-Simona Lazarova presented the project. Lazarova, who is developing the draft methodology for Gabrovo, highlighted the NONA project’s role in integrating degraded areas into strategic spatial planning tailored to local needs and co-developed with Gabrovo Municipality to help the local community and stakeholders transform degraded Danube areas into spaces of opportunity.

This initiative, supported by local civic organizations, business associations, and educational institutions, aims to foster greater awareness of sustainable urban development within the Danube region. The NONA project presentation underscored the importance of communication and stakeholder engagement in achieving its goals, ultimately contributing to greener, more inclusive cities.
