Design Thinking Workshop - Foundation for Innovation, Technology and transfer of Knowledge

The Design Thinking Workshop for Plastics as a part of Plan C project was held on the 19^th of September 2024 at the SpinIT Conf Agenda during the SpinIT Live Event in Zenica.

The main goal of the design thinking workshop is to assess the current state of digitalization in the industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina, identify challenges and problems in domestic plastic industry and offer a new innovative solution designed for circularity focused on AUTOMOTIVE and CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY.

The workshop was attended by 19 participants, from which there were 4 companies, three universities and one development agency. The participants came from different backgrounds: automotive, IT and construction industry, and software engineering, construction and manufacturing (mechanical and electrotechnical) faculty.

We concluded that the connection of the plastics industry with automation and robotics allows for significant improvements in product quality, production speed, cost reduction and process sustainability. Technologies such as robotic arms, automatic control systems and digitalization are enabling the plastics industry to become more competitive, efficient and environmentally friendly.
