Workshop and Guided Tour on the Roman Legacy in Romania

Organized by our project partners UAUIM and INCDT, the Workshop & Guided Tour on the Roman Trail on 8th August 2026 was a journey and guided tour started from Timisoara, going through Băile Herculane, Teregova – the Roman archaeological site Castrul Roman Praetorium (Ad Mediam) –, Clisura Dunării and back to Timișoara.

Archaeologists Simona Regep and Victor Bunoiu hosted the visit in Mehadia together with Ilie Radoi from INCDT, offering historical information. All participants had the rare occasion to explore the site next to the archaeological research team that excavates the ruins. The topics discussed on the site included protection and visibility measures and the possibility of including the site on the future Roman Trail.
