#RWD presented as a role model for sustainability by skills development

The #RomansWineDanube project was presented at three activities at the Transferability Conference of Steinbeis Europa Zentrum in Stuttgart (February 4th, 2026), a major EU-level event dedicated to skills, innovation, and sustainable transformation across Europe’s cultural, creative, tourism, and SME sectors. Around 140 participants joined the inspiring event. As one of eight invited EU-funded initiatives, #RWD showcased in a pitch, a workshop and a panel discussion how a cultural tourism project linked to Roman heritage, enotourism, and cross-border collaboration

  • can build long-term transformation capacity,

  • embed project results into regional tourism ecosystems,

  • ensure that transnational impact continues beyond funding cycles.

#RWD partners Karin Drda-Kühn (media k GmbH) and Martin Dujčák (Kosice University) represented the project and focused their contributions on how skills development among stakeholders can contribute to sustainable regional development. The #RWD workshop on emerging skills in cultural tourism was particularly popular, attracting around 60 participants. The main finding of the conference was that skills development is the foundation for capacity building to promote economic impacts in regional development and tourism. Transnational cooperation plays a crucial role in this, as it strengthens the shared European vision of a heritage based on a common culture.
