Introducing The Green Energy Marketplace and Database

Join the SMEnergy Platform

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Europe can now explore new opportunities for energy efficiency and sustainability with the launch of the SMEnergy platform, a dynamic Green Energy Marketplace and Database designed to connect businesses with trusted energy suppliers, experts, and financial consultants.

Developed under the Interreg Danube SMEnergy project and nearing its final phase under the guidance of Energiaklub in Hungary, the platform goes beyond simple listings. It functions as a knowledge-sharing space where SMEs can exchange good practices, access country-specific insights, and explore technical information relevant to their region.

A flagship feature of the platform is the self-assessment tool, enabling energy-intensive SMEs to evaluate their current energy usage and discover tailored opportunities for cost-effective green energy solutions.

In addition, the platform integrates SMEnergy’s innovative Green Energy Knowledge, Operation, and Service (GEKOS) Hubs across the Danube region. These hubs provide SMEs with practical support, including:

  • Financial guidance for green energy investments

  • Signposting to experts for reducing administrative burdens

  • Capacity-building through trainings, seminars, and awareness campaigns

  • Access to a qualified supplier and expert database

  • Publications, newsletters, and promotional materials on renewable energy topics

“SMEnergy and the GEKOS Hubs empower SMEs to take control of their energy consumption and make informed decisions for a sustainable future,” says SMEnergy Communication Manager, Madeline Langlois (European Institute for Innovation - Technology). “The platform not only connects businesses with experts and suppliers, but also provides the tools and knowledge to implement a cost-effective green energy transition.”
