Interactive Meeting with Key Local Stakeholders Held within the SteelCityZen Project
As part of the project “Diversifying labour markets in industrial cities of the Danube Region via enhanced stakeholder cooperation and skills matchmaking to support local transitions and promote long-term sustainable development” – SteelCityZen, funded by the European Union through the Interreg Danube Region Programme, the Municipality of Nikšić organised an interactive meeting with key local stakeholders.
The meeting was held on 30 September 2026 in Meeting Room 3 at the Municipality of Nikšić and brought together representatives of local government, the business sector and public institutions.
In addition to representatives of the Municipality of Nikšić, the meeting was attended by a representative of the Employment Agency of Montenegro, which is also an associated partner of the Municipality of Nikšić in the project; representatives of Hakanto DOO, EPCG – Željezara Nikšić and Foka & Bumbar DOO; and representatives of the NGO IPAS.
During the meeting, the SteelCityZen project and the activities implemented to date were presented, with a particular focus on the developed online platform for connecting employers and job seekers, which represents one of the project's pilot activities. Participants were introduced to the platform's main features, and initial impressions and user experiences were discussed.
A dedicated part of the meeting focused on needs, expectations and suggestions for further improving the platform, as well as challenges in the local labour market and skills needs. Through the discussion, participants shared their observations, experiences and proposals that could contribute to the platform's further development and more effective use.
The exchange of experiences and suggestions contributed to a better understanding of local labour market needs and opportunities to strengthen cooperation between employers and job seekers through the online platform.
