Lithium Mining Corridor in the Cínovec Area

Regional authorities have approved a lithium mining corridor in Cínovec, a strategic 42-billion-CZK project aimed at modernizing the Ústí Region and creating 4,000 jobs.

While supporting the transition from coal, the plan faces local environmental concerns and demands for higher financial compensation. Underground mining is expected to start by 2030.
