WE.Circular in action: Brussels, Stuttgart & EU Recognition

October 2025 marked a highly dynamic period for the WE.Circular project, with several high-profile appearances that significantly increased the project’s visibility and affirmed its role in driving gender-responsive transformation in the Danube Region. Three key events highlighted the project's impact: a dedicated session in Brussels, a project video produced by the European Committee of the Regions, and participation in Kongress BW 2025 in Stuttgart.

High-Level Representation at EU Regions Week in Brussels

On 15 October 2025, WE.Circular was presented during the session “Women Breaking Barriers: Gender-Responsive Twin Transformation Across Regions”, part of the official programme of the European Week of Regions and Cities. The session was co-organised by the Regional Agency for Entrepreneurship and Innovations – Varna (RAPIV), Lead Partner of WE.Circular, together with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkey.

With close to 100 participants from across Europe, the session brought together three EU-funded projects — WE.Circular, GRANDIS, and the Developing Women Empowerment Models in Manufacturing Industry initiative — to discuss how women’s leadership can be supported in the green and digital transitions. Ralitsa Zhekova, Director of RAPIV, presented the progress and policy impact of WE.Circular in building enabling ecosystems for women entrepreneurs in the Danube Region.

Video Spotlight by the European Committee of the Regions

In recognition of the project’s relevance and results, the European Committee of the Regions produced a short video feature on WE.Circular. The video provides an overview of the project’s objectives, territorial focus, and actions to close the gender gap in circular and digital entrepreneurship.

This media exposure offers a valuable opportunity to communicate the project’s message to a wider European audience and to capitalise on the results achieved by the partnership.

WE.Circular at Kongress BW 2025, Stuttgart

WE.Circular was showcased as one of the flagship Interreg projects at the SCHAUFENSTER DONAURAUM booth during Kongress BW 2025 in Stuttgart, one of Germany’s leading events on resource efficiency, circular economy, and sustainable transformation.

The booth was coordinated by Priority Area 8 (PA8) of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), bringing together projects and initiatives that promote competitiveness and circular solutions in the region. RAPIV, as Lead Partner, presented WE.Circular’s approach to strengthening the digital and business skills of women entrepreneurs and building institutional capacity for implementing smart specialisation strategies.

The event facilitated networking with policymakers, stakeholders, and business support organisations, reinforcing the project’s role in supporting cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange on circular transition and gender equality.
