Building a Greener Future: A2PT Project Inaugurates First Meeting in Vienna
Public transport, walking, and cycling make an unstoppable trio. Despite this fact, many municipalities and infrastructure providers still haven't fully embraced this synergy in their planning. Change is on the horizon, with the Active2PublicTransport Project (A2PT) under the Interreg Danube Region Programme.
Recently, experts from nine European countries converged in Vienna for a project meeting, and the energy was electric! We are delighted that the first meeting of the "Active2PublicTransport" project in Vienna was a success.
The project aims to develop intermodal and innovative solutions for public transport and active mobility in the Danube region. In doing so, partners lead by Österreichische Energieagentur – Austrian Energy Agency will focus on examples of good practice and pilot measures to make mobility in the Danube region sustainable.
Participating countries are Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
Over the course of three days, the project achieved some major milestones:
Tested the evaluation criteria for public transport stations and hubs.
- Defined criteria for forming A2PT working groups in each country.
- Established a method for analyzing public transport networks.
- Discussed criteria for selecting the best practice examples to make mobility in the Danube region sustainable.
We look forward to a successful co-operation and thank all partners for their interest and support!
