Stakeholders meeting in Jászberény, Hungary

The local creative activities in Jászberény continue with unbroken momentum in Commheritour

Following the holiday season, Jászberény started the autumn period with dynamic teamwork. The Jászberény stakeholder group of the Commheritour met on the 26th of August in Roomli, the Creative Hub. In the first introductory part, Beáta Gál-Dobos reported on the completed and planned activities and eye-catching results of the pilot led by the Jászság Folk Art Workshop Association. She detailed the creative process that led to the production of textile samples depicting reconsidered traditional Jász patterns. The participants of the event had the opportunity to see the textile samples and other products (jewellery, belts, biscuits) all bearing the designed jász patterns. As Beáta stressed, in the further part of the pilot project, the presented textiles would be used to create an eight-piece costume collection as well as other objects, which will all be presented in early 2026 in public.

The main part of the meeting was devoted to the Commheritour local action planning. The workshop led by Edit Konok supported the preparation of the local action plan of Jászberény. The aim was to involve stakeholders in the creation of a feasible, interlinked series of actions to promote the creative utilization of handicraft heritage in Jászság. The expert proposals regarding aims and interventions of the action plan were based on the heritage Valorisation Reports produced in the first half of the project. The stakeholders were invited to validate these and to confirm or discard the suggested directions. The participants worked in an interactive way, through group work, on the possible concrete interventions that will make the touristic and economic utilization of heritage-based handicraft activities noteworthy in Jászberény.

At the end of the program, the stakeholders also discussed the creative branding competition, which they intend to announce in the near future. The competition aims to create a logo depicting the city's creative products based on traditional handicraft activities. This would first appear on the costume collection created within the pilot.
