Culinary Trail of the Ethnic and Local Cuisine in the Danube Region Demonstration Centre – Trdinov Hram Grand Opening

We are thrilled to announce that the Culinary Trail of the Ethnic and Local Cuisine in the Danube Region Demonstration Centre at Trdinov Hram is now live! The grand opening was a monumental occasion, and we couldn’t be more excited to share this moment with our community and supporters.

The opening event kicked off with a powerful address by our SASS team and project manager, Prof. Borut Roncevic, who stressed the importance of preserving and exploring ethnic and local cuisines on an international platform. This project, which is co-funded by the Interreg Danube Region Programme, brings together partners from 14 countries, aiming to celebrate and sustain culinary heritage across the region.

We are grateful for the strong support we received from the Mayor of Novo Mesto, Gregor Macedoni, and Father Gregor Kos from the Franciscan Monastery, who blessed the event, adding a spiritual touch to the celebration.

The atmosphere was further enriched by the Tambura group Dionizi from Bela krajina, whose music transported us to the heart of the region's culinary traditions.

With the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, we have opened a new space dedicated to learning, research, and connecting local producers, caterers, experts, and the general public. This milestone marks just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey in promoting the Danube region's rich culinary heritage.

We invite you to join us in this exciting new chapter!
