Culinary Trail Platform/Mobile App Receives Silver Innovation Award at the 2026 Regional GZS Innovation Awards

Nova Gorica, June 2026 – The Culinary Trail digital platform, developed within the framework of the international Culinary Trail project, has received a Silver Innovation Award at the 24th Regional Innovation Awards ceremony organized by the Northern Primorska Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SPGZ).

The Silver Award represents an important recognition of the project's success in combining digital technologies, culinary heritage, culture, and sustainable tourism. The platform enables visitors to explore culinary routes, local producers, traditional recipes, and stories that shape the identity of ethnic minorities present in the Danube Region.

The innovation stands out particularly for its ability to connect various stakeholders—including tourism organizations, local producers, restaurateurs, cultural institutions, and visitors—within a single digital ecosystem. In doing so, it contributes to greater visibility of local culinary heritage while promoting sustainable tourism and rural development.

The award is an important confirmation of the quality of work carried out by the entire Culinary Trail project partnership, which develops innovative approaches to promoting the culinary heritage of ethnic minorities in the Danube Region. The digital platform is one of the project's key outputs, providing users with access to verified information, interactive content, and inspiring culinary experiences in one place.

The recognition confirms that Culinary Trail successfully combines innovation, sustainability, and international cooperation, making a significant contribution to the development of modern, responsible, sustainable tourism in the region.

The awards ceremony was organized by the Northern Primorska Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SPGZ) in cooperation with the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport; the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation; and the Slovenian agencies SPIRIT Slovenia and ARIS.

The Culinary Trail project is supported by the Interreg Danube Region Programme and co-funded by the European Union.
