Gastro Cup Serbia 2024: Celebrating Culinary Heritage and Innovation

This year's Gastro Cup Serbia brought the flavours of the Danube region to life, spotlighting the international Culinary Trail project through two key segments: a Gastro Panel and the competitive category "Modern National Dish."

Gastro Panel: Culinary Heritage in Focus

Organised by the Regional Economic Development Agency for Šumadija and Pomoravlje in partnership with event organisers, the panel delved into the culinary heritage of ethnic minorities in the Danube region. Experts in gastronomy and cultural heritage discussed the challenges of preserving authentic recipes and techniques while exploring strategies to brand these traditions as cultural treasures.

Strengthening connections between local communities, tourism, and gastronomy.

The panel underscored the need for collaboration to ensure these traditions remain vibrant and globally recognised.

"Modern National Dish" Competition

In a celebration of innovation, over 70 contestants competed in the category "Modern National Dish." Chefs across the region presented creative interpretations of traditional recipes, blending local ingredients with contemporary culinary techniques. The results were stunning dishes that honoured tradition while embracing modernity.
