Open Farm Gates on Two Wheels – Professional Workshop in Őrimagyarósd! 🚴♀️🌿 (HUNGARY)
Today, we held a truly inspiring professional workshop at the picturesque "Tök Jó Porta" – The Gold of Őrség, (Hungary) where we began co-creating the upcoming Open Farm Gates Day, planned for September along the Iron Curtain Trail.
This initiative was launched as part of the Inclusive Border Cycling project, with the active support of regional and national organizations. 🎉
🎯 Our goal is to connect cycling tourism with local values – offering farms the opportunity to showcase their products, traditions, and hospitality to visitors traveling along the EuroVelo13 route. Much like the Route 66 – Straße der Lebenslust, which links 68 culinary experience destinations into a vibrant art and pleasure trail, we envision a discovery route where visitors not only stop, but taste the joy of rural life. 🚴♂️🧀🌻
During today’s workshop:
🔸 We were welcomed with outstanding hospitality by our host at Tök Jó Porta – The Gold of Őrség.
🔸 Led by István Kovács (Pannon Local Product Ltd.), we explored opportunities for collaboration between bike-friendly regional tourism and local producers.
🔸 In group work sessions, participants identified which products or services they could showcase during the Open Gates Day, and reflected on the challenges and cooperation opportunities related to its implementation.
💡 Would you like to join?
We are looking for farms and producers who are eager to open their gates to visitors in September – if you'd like to be part of this unique “experience route,” don’t miss the chance to get involved! 🚪✨
