New European Bauhaus on the Danube NEB Lab (NEBoD) selected as a Danube Strategy Flagship Project for 2025–2026
In July 2025, the New European Bauhaus on the Danube NEB Lab (NEBoD) was designated as one of the EUSDR PA3 flagship projects for the second year in a row! Danube Strategy flagships are projects or processes that contribute to implementing the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), with a clear macro-regional dimension and a multi-level governance approach. They play a key role in fostering the Danube Region’s economic, social and territorial cohesion, while also enhancing the overall quality of life. NEBoD is one of the community-led NEB Labs, supported by the European Commission and aimed at showcasing how the values and principles of the New European Bauhaus can be put into practice through concrete projects on the ground.
It serves as a “think-and-do tank”, working with cities and regions across the Danube area to strengthen their capacity to initiate and implement investments in more responsible land-use practices – forming the basis of a new, green and just economy. Since the start of 2024, NEBoD has been realising its vision through several concrete projects, including NONA – New Governance for New Spaces – the flagship project of NEBoD, co-funded by the Interreg Danube programme.
In our October 2024 publication, The New European Bauhaus on the Danube (NEBoD) initiative declared a flagship project of the European Danube Strategy, you can read more about the origins of NEBoD, the objectives of NONA, and how both are shaping the future of governance and sustainable development in the Danube Region.
