What Drove the Romans? – A Guide to Ancient Cuisine and Medical Care
On Friday, 13 February, the Etnološki centar baranjske baštine in Beli Manastir hosted an engaging Roman-themed evening as part of the ROMAN LEGACY project.
Dr. Ivana Ožanić Roguljić of the Institute of archaeology in Zagreb (Institut za arheologiju u Zagrebu) guided visitors through the world of ancient cuisine inspired by the works of Apicius and Cato the Elder, accompanied by a tasting of Roman specialties.
At the same time, Dr. Deniver Vukelić from Legio VI Herculia embodied the Roman military and civilian physician Sextus Liberius Lupus from the early 4th century, presenting visitors with insights into everyday practices of ancient medicine, hygiene, and healing.
